A native of Sedalia, Dr. Welch earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Missouri in Columbia (UMC). He then moved to Kansas City, where he completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at UMKC. It was during this time that he met his wife, Amy, a pharmacist at Boone Hospital. After a year of pharmacy practice, Dr. Welch returned to school to pursue his passion for dermatology at UMC.
From 2010 to 2016, Dr. Welch served as Board Director of the Missouri Dermatological Society and held the role of President in 2014. He has two children currently in college, both pursuing studies in Biology.
Dr. Welch’s clinical interests include general dermatology and skin cancer detection/removal. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his dogs, tackling crossword puzzles, staying active, and appreciating a good sense of humor.
